Business Secretary Vince Cable claims he is optimistic the cash will not be cut, but admitted he could not spend any more until October at the earliest.

The full pounds 60m support package for Teesside was one of the largest support measures ever announced when it was confirmed eight months ago.

Since then around pounds 5m has been spent as part of the pounds 31m already committed.

But the remaining cash is now at risk as the Government carries out its Comprehensive Spending Review.

With little recourse available in his sight-unseen purchase, McGinity began taking stock of what he had. It was a complete, running, original 61,000-mile, red '62 Impala SS convertible with the 380-hp Turbo-Fire 409 cu. in. V8, four-speed manual transmission and 3.36:1 ratio positraction rear axle -- a rare vehicle to find in any condition.
